Welcome to another blog post featuring The Drifting Classroom! My last post (CLICK HERE) featured photos from a rehearsal session with the band. This time the photos are from a live show at Studio2 on Parr Street in Liverpool, where they regularly play for their residency.
One of the key differences when shooting in a situation like this compared to their rehearsal space is that I have no control over the lighting, so I have to work with what is available.
Additionally the level of light is generally low at gigs and varies between band members, so it can be a bit tricky to shoot, but an enjoyable challenge nonetheless.
So on to the photos from the show, where I looked to capture a variety of imagery…
Marc kicked off the set playing a few acoustic songs solo…
After Marc’s solo songs the rest of the band then joined…
…with Luke (centre) on guitar…
…Rich on keys…
…and Allan on drums.
Some brief experimentation with the backdrop lighting using a slower shutter speed.
