Last week I got the chance to flex my gig-photo-taking skills for my friend’s band The Drifting Classroom. They played at the Handyman (formerly a DIY store, now a pub) on Smithdown Road in Liverpool for the Liverpool International Music Festival (LIMF) Fringe Parties.
Some of you may remember that I photographed these guys a few years back at The Kazimier Club (click here to see that blog), and now they were back with new material and an evolved sound - I really enjoyed it!
As well as trying to capture some crisp photos I decided to mix things up and experiment with slower shutter speeds and double-exposures to capture movement and layered imagery.
Here are the photos - I hope you enjoy them!
Thanks for taking a look at these photos from the gig - have any thoughts or questions? Then please leave a comment below! I always appreciate the feedback.
If you would like to hear some music by The Drifting Classroom then you can check out their Spotify page HERE. They will be playing next at Studio2 on Parr Street in Liverpool on the 17th of August.
