Last night I popped along to the Liverpool Cathedral to see the 'Museum of the Moon' exhibition by UK based artist Luke Jerram. It was the final date of this touring show in Liverpool so I decided to get some photos of it before it moved on.

It was certainly busy, as people queued up to get in to enjoy the impressive and somewhat surreal display. Visitors enjoyed the artwork in different ways - some did the ol' holding-up-the-moon trick that you get to do with every day appearances of moons in cathedrals (!) while some just sat (or lay down underneath) it and soaked it up with the accompanying atmospheric and relaxing soundtrack.

Here's a bit of info about the artwork from the website:

"Measuring seven metres in diameter, the moon features 120dpi detailed NASA imagery of the lunar surface. At an approximate scale of 1:500,000, each centimetre of the internally lit spherical sculpture represents 5km of the moon’s surface"
