Last Saturday I was asked to photograph Liverpool Pride 2017 for Barclays, the headline sponsor for the event, and their LGBT ally group Spectrum (click here to find out more about what they do).
This year's event was set to be the biggest so far as 2017 marks the 50th anniversary of the Sexual Offences Act. It proved just so, as a vibrant and friendly event with a lot going on!
I was asked to capture the atmosphere of the event in a reportage style, which sounded exactly like my kind of approach. My day started off at the Barclays Spectrum stand at St.George's Hall where their staff interacted with the public and prepared for the march.
The Pride march kicked off at 12 from St.George's Hall and made its way around the city centre, looping back round to the start.
After this I captured what I could of the atmosphere around St.George's Hall and rounded that off with live music performances at the Barclays stage.
So here's what I captured on the day. I hope you enjoy them...
...and that was my action-packed day at Liverpool Pride! Thanks for looking. Did you go along too? What did you think of my photo-story? Leave your comments below and be sure to subscribe for future blogs.
