Formby beach - a mixture of National Trust forestry, sand dunes and desert-like trees - became a favourite place of mine to visit after being introduced to it in 2014. 

Last year I followed this up with two more visits; the first during the early winter months with family and the second on a hot summer's day. Some time after taking the photos in the summer I had the idea to bring both visits together in one blog post, so here they are:
